INNOQ and its Stakeholders trained in Good Standardization Practices by ISO

The Quality Infrastructure Component of the Promove Comércio Project, among several initiatives such as the equipping of Standardization and Quality units, provides for the training of professionals in the area in Good Standardization Practices by ISO (International Organization for Standardization). That is why, last February, just over 30 employees of the National Institute for Standardization and Quality (INNOQ) and its partners participated in the first training given by ISO, in the scope of pursuing the results foreseen in the Project.

On the occasion of the launch of the training, the Director General of INNOQ, Alfredo Sitoe, expressed his satisfaction with the support given to his institution by the Promove Comércio Project. “This is a very important intervention for us, taking into account that we want to give credibility to our services, so that the SMEs that export from our country can have their products recognized in the international market,” said Sitoe. In another development, the person responsible for INNOQ ensured that his team will make use of all the support that is being provided through European Union funding.

In turn, the INNOQ Standards Editor, Francisco Júnior, highlighted the fact that the training is being provided by ISSO. “It was a huge privilege to participate in this training given by an internationally recognized institution like ISO. For this reason, we can only thank the Promove Comércio Project for this opportunity. Certainly, the knowledge learned in this training will add a lot of value to our performance in the elaboration of technical standards, from the conception of the projects to the sale. ”

By the end of the Project, the provinces of Zambézia, Nampula and Maputo are expected to have reference services in terms of certification and metrology. As explained by the Technical Specialist in the Area of Quality Infrastructure by UNIDO, Francois Denner, these are interventions that seek to look at all dimensions of the Quality theme, taking into account that the Project will cover improvements from the equipment necessary for these institutions function properly until staff training.
