” In the 28th of April, Promove Comércio Project held a training session on Packaging and Labeling Requirements in the Cosmetics and Pharmaceutical Industry in the European Union market. The event was delivered a Brand, Packaging and Labeling Specialist and, aimed to train participants on the guidelines and regulations to be followed for the marketing of products in these sectors.

During the session, the importance of packaging and labelling, the mandatory elements of the label in the EU market were highlighted in accordance with Directive Nr 1223/2009 of 30 November and National Decree 29/2019 of 18 April, and the relevant national entities in the certification process were highlighted. The essential role of packaging in protecting and maintaining the quality of the product during production, distribution and consumption were also highlighted, and the importance of playing this role economically.

This training was carried out as part of the capacity building agenda of the PROMOVE Comércio project – Building Competitiveness for Exports, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNIDO, with the aim of supporting trade and development in Mozambique.”
