The seminar brings together members of the Technical Committee for Standards Development, senior laboratory technicians, and representatives of laboratory associations from the project’s beneficiary institutions. Over the three days, participants will deepen their knowledge of European standards, which are essential for exporting Mozambican products to the European market.
The opening session featured the project coordinator, Zacarias Zandamela from UNIDO, who emphasized the importance of adopting international standards to facilitate trade and ensure that Mozambican products comply with foreign market requirements. Consultant Cristina Antão delivered the initial presentation, outlining the seminar’s expectations and goals.
The seminar program includes modules on analytical methodologies applicable to microbiological testing in drinking water, food, surfaces, and ambient air, as well as physicochemical methods. Participants include representatives from institutions such as the National Institute for Standardization and Quality (INNOQ), the National Institute for Fisheries Research (INIP), and various laboratory associations in the country. This initiative aims to strengthen Mozambique’s quality infrastructure and contribute to improving the competitiveness of national exports.
