Creating Competitiveness for Exports in Mozambique

Promove Comercio meets with entrepreneurs

On June 14, 2022, a meeting was held in the city of Beira, Sofala province, to introduce the Promove Comercio project to members of the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce at the local level.

During the meeting, Zacarias Zandamela, the National Coordinator of Promove Comercio, explained to the participants that the project aims to enhance the competitiveness of companies focused on international trade, particularly for the European Union market, and to increase their capacity to meet export market requirements such as quality and food safety. In this context, Zandamela invited members of the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce to apply as first-level support companies to benefit from the set of skills and opportunities offered by Promove Comercio.

The meeting also served to present the work Promove Comercio is doing with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, through the National Directorate of Industry (DNI), aimed at evaluating the impact of the “Made in Mozambique” label and ensuring its projection as a catalyst to promote exports and facilitate access to regional and European markets.

Promove Comercio-Moz – Creating Competitiveness for Exports is a project funded by the European Union in Mozambique and implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
