Creating Competitiveness for Exports in Mozambique

Revolutionizing Exports: “Promove Comércio/ UNIDO and APIEX Join Forces to Develop Exporter Database for Mozambique

The Promove Comércio project, implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) with financial support from the European Union (EU), is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Mozambique Investment and Export Promotion Agency (APIEX) to develop and implement an Exporter Database. This initiative aims to enhance business opportunities, promote economic growth, and provide valuable data to stakeholders.

“By marking this moment with the Letter Exchange Ceremony between Promove Comércio and APIEX, I recall the collective efforts that have brought us to this point. This ceremony is not just a formal gesture but a testament to the commitment and dedication of all those who believe in the potential of the Mozambican export sector. A shared commitment to increase trade opportunities, support economic growth, and boost Mozambique’s exports.

Our collaboration with APIEX represents a fundamental partnership that encapsulates the essence of our common objectives. The Exporter Database, which we are celebrating today, embodies the power of information; it is a gateway to international markets. It stands as a testament to our determination to provide companies, policymakers, and investors with real-time information that will shape informed decision-making.” It connects Mozambican companies to a world of possibilities, commented Jaime Comiche, UNIDO representative in Mozambique.

“The development of the Exporter Database represents more than just data; it embodies a tool that allows us to understand trends, seize opportunities, and overcome challenges. It reflects our commitment to collaboration and innovation as drivers of progress,” added Gill Bires, General Director of APIEX. APIEX’s enthusiastic acceptance of this partnership signifies a unified vision for a prosperous Mozambique focused on exportation and trade.

Global Integration: Mozambique becomes an international player thanks to this initiative. It serves as a bridge for global partnerships and business opportunities.

The ceremony held last Friday, September 1, 2023, was a significant milestone in formalizing the joint commitment to growing the export landscape in Mozambique. The crucial support and funding from the European Union have been instrumental in reaching this point, and we are grateful for this partnership.”

Stay tuned as we embark on this remarkable journey of progress, innovation, and growth. Together, we are shaping a brighter future—one export at a time.
